Snapchat Dual Camera feature introduced a new way to allow Snapchat users to capture two perspectives at the same time. The new feature will allow you to snap images and videos with both the front and back cameras at the same time. According to the company, Snap's Camera is one of the most popular cameras in the world. The Dual Camera feature has four layouts, and Snapchatters can create content using creative tools like music, stickers, and filters.
The Snapchat Dual Camera will be available globally on iOS today, with Android compatibility coming in the coming months, according to the company. According to a blog post, initial support will be provided for iPhone models such as the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone SE, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. As previously stated, Snapchat's Dual Camera allows you to shoot content utilizing both the front and back cameras at the same time.
For instance, let's say you and your friends are enjoying a Friday night party. Initially, you could only record using one camera, so you had to choose between recording the party or recording your response to it. With a Dual Camera feature, you can simultaneously record what's happening at the party and your response to it for a more complete picture of the situation.
How to use Dual Camera:
- Once you open Snapchat, you'll notice a new icon on the camera toolbar.
- To use Dual Camera on Snapchat, go to the Camera screen.
- Before taking a Snap, tap the Dual Camera icon in the Camera toolbar and experiment with different setups.
- Dual Camera comes in four different layouts: vertical, horizontal, picture in picture, and cutout.
- Users can also add music, Stickers and Lenses to their Snaps.
- There is a ‘flip camera' button that switches between the primary and secondary camera views.
Snapchat parent company Snap has also announced a Spotlight creator incentive scheme in which qualifying individuals who create the top Spotlight Snaps would receive “millions of dollars.” “Share what you make with Dual Camera on Spotlight, or create a Snap or Story if inspiration strikes quickly,” the company stated.
“With one simple tap, you can start creating Snaps and Stories, or more polished Spotlight videos, with double the perspective. Dual Camera is a creative way for our community to capture exciting moments while being part of the memory – like rocking out at a music festival or everyday moments like your culinary adventures in the kitchen,” according to the company's statement.
