[GUSA Games]: Referee runs as students chase him in a match between UG and UDS

A referee was chased by angry fans chase at the ongoing 26th GUSA Games at the University of Ghana, Legon. This unforeseen incident happened between a match involving the University of Ghana and the University for Development Studies (UDS).

Angry students who are believed to be students from the University of Ghana rushed onto the field to confront the referee because he cautioned one of the players from UG over a bad tackle.

Earlier information shows that such an incident was reported during a football match between UG vs KNUST which later ended in a fight.

This comes a few days after the police were alleged to have shot warning shots that ended up hurting a Kotoko fan during a league match over the weekend.

The issue was later resolved with the help of the security present and with a later arrest made by the police.

The match was resumed, and UG won penalties after a 1:1 full-time score.
