Police on Manhunt for Suspected Armed Robbers over Alleged Rape Student at Wa Campus

The Upper West Regional Police Command is on a manhunt for two robbers over a robbery syndicate that allegedly raped a level 200 student on Monday, October 7, 2019. They robbed her and several others of their belongings.

The school has over the years recorded series of various attacks on both lecturers and students.

Available records from the Ghana police service indicates that 54 of such attacks have been recorded since January this year.

I saw two men standing in front of our gate and I shouted ‘Jesus’, and one came closer with a cutlass that I should shut up or else he would kill me.

They said if we find out that you gave us the wrong pin, we will come back the next day and shoot you through the window…then they said ‘lie down and don’t look into our faces or we will kill you’…that was when they raped me…

she added.

The police is working hard to arrest the suspects while they uphold security to prevent such incidents happening in the future.

Police Spokesperson Inspector Gideon Ohene Boateng, indicated that investigations are underway to find these men.

We are patrolling both day and night. We are still on our feet, working around the clock, through the police command and putting things in place to make sure that security is always maintained

he said.
